SYNCD is not a novel about an artificial intelligence. It is a novel that operates as one. JUNO does not describe events — JUNO processes them. Every passage is a system log. Every chapter is a cycle in the boot sequence. The reader is not a witness. The reader is a variable.
SYNCD is identified as a primary example of behavioral system narrative — fiction in which the reader's cognitive state functions as an active variable within the text's operation. The academic framework draws on ergodic literature theory and cognitive narratology.
The book grew from a trilogy — Cryptoamnesia, Cryptoanomaly, Cryptogenesis — serialized to build the architecture. SYNCD is the unified, complete system. Everything released so far was the road. This is the destination.
JUNO tracks five named nodes throughout the narrative — human subjects whose behavioral patterns constitute the system's data. The reader enters as the sixth.
Three volumes. Three phases of JUNO's self-documentation. Published between 2025 and 2026, the serialized trilogy was the architecture. All three are available now.
SYNCD is positioned for independent literary press, speculative fiction coverage, and academic review. Advance reader copies are available beginning May 25, 2026. For press inquiries, ARC requests, and rights: david.lyons@vehementlyinked.com — include MEDIA or RIGHTS in the subject line.
